Holiday Weekend

Memorial Day weekend is here! We don't really have any big plans, Chris has plans to wash his car and wax it, I have plans to see Sex and the City 2 with a friend, and we both plan to visit Chris' parents to go swimming. I work on Memorial Day, as I am saving PTO for after baby.

Pearl is SO excited to swim. She looks forward to summer all year long. Last week they pulled the cover off the pool and you could see the yearning look in her eyes, yet, she was NOT allowed to swim in the dirty green water!!

Anyhow, remember what Memorial Day is all about, I don't want anyone to forget the meaning for the long weekend!

How far along?: 27 weeks
Maternity clothes?: Definitely. But yoga pants are still my favorite to wear to work! I am sticking mostly with maternity tops just because I don't want to stretch out my good shirts.
Sleep: Good. Wake up at least once a night to pee, but it is getting to the point where I don't remember being fully awake when I was up.
Best moment this week: Someone telling me that I didn't look like I had gained much weight at all...(yah right!)
Movement: All the time. Especially in the morning and right before I am going to sleep.
Food Cravings: Nothing in particular at this point, loving Mexican food or anything salty, but that really isn't out of the norm for me.
Gender: boy, boy, boy!
Belly Button: Innie
Stretchmarks?: Just previous ones from puberty...I am lotioning like crazy in case that will help prevent them.
What I miss: Thinner legs.
What I am looking forward to: For baby to have hiccups, and for baby showers!!
Weekly Wisdom: Don't drink lots of water right before going to sleep. Although, that seems to be when I am the most thirsty!
Milestones: This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended. He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother him, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Terrific Tuesday

Tonight is gonna be a good night. It's Tuesday. Tuesday's = Glee. That is always good!!

In other news, I love being in the second trimester. I was off work yesterday and I managed to complete my to do list, that was a half of a notebook sheet of paper long, all by noon. It feels good to get stuff accomplished! I gave in and bought a maternity swim suit, I have a feeling it is going to come in super handy while I am massively routund during the 100 degree summer months.

This weekend we went shopping and went ahead and bought the toddler rails and conversion rails to a twin bed to grow with baby, while they were on sale. We also bought the mattress, finally! The room is really coming together. It is really exciting to walk past the nursery and see the progress as we prepare for baby C. It is still so weird to think, that we are going to have a whole new member of our family in about 13 weeks!

Chris is outside right now working on the shelf for the baby's room. This shelf is going to hold our diecast cars. Chris is determined to get it finished this week. I can't wait to see it on the wall, it is gonna look amazing!

Last Wednesday, I had a doctor's appt. He said I will do my glucose test at 30 weeks, and then after that it appears my appointments will come every two weeks. I can't believe we are already at that stage!!

Here Goes Nothing...

I decided to start another blog. I haven't blogged since the good ol' Xanga days. I thought maybe I would want to write down memories and tidbits as I take on this experience of being pregnant and becoming a Mommy to my son.

Today I am around the 26 week mark, and feeling good. I have wicked nasty heartburn that usually starts after breakfast. Who knew oatmeal could burn so bad?

Other than that, it has been smooth sailing. I am just trying to keep active and watch what I eat, it sucks being hungry ALL. THE. TIME.

Will post more later as it comes to me.
